Mixies Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Unproductive AI Inc., a Delaware C corporation ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use the Mixies platform, including our mobile applications, websites, AI text messaging agent (the "Mixie Agent"), and related services (collectively, the "Service").

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of the Mixies Terms and Conditions. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, do not use the Service.

The Service is intended only for adults aged 18 or older. See Section 9 (Children's Privacy) below.

1. Who We Are and How to Contact Us

Unproductive AI Inc. is the controller responsible for your personal information.

For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@mixies.ai. (If you are exercising a legal right such as access, correction, deletion, or opt-out, please use that address and we will route your request to the appropriate team.)

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Registration and Profile Data. Your first and last name, email address, display name or handle, profile photo, job title, company, biography and "looking for" text, referral source, and any social or web links you choose to add (such as LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Substack, TikTok, GitHub, or a website). Your account credentials are stored as password hashes.

Conversation Data. The messages, responses, and information you share with the Mixie Agent through in-app chat, email, text message (if you provide a phone number), or any other communication channel, including the networking goals, preferences, and interests you describe.

User Content. Content you post or send through the Service to people other than the Mixie Agent: messages in event chat rooms, direct and group messages, forum posts, contact-request messages, files and images you upload, and private notes you write about other people. Private notes are visible only to you, but they are stored by us and may be accessed for safety, moderation, and legal purposes.

Usage Data. Information about how you interact with the Service, including timestamps, frequency of use, features accessed, and engagement patterns.

Device and Technical Data. Browser and device type, device identifiers, IP address, push notification tokens (if you enable notifications), and other technical information collected automatically. Our systems and our analytics provider may use your IP address to derive an approximate (city-level) location; we do not collect precise location from your device.

Usage and Engagement Data. Information about how you use the Service, including features accessed, session activity, whether emails and notifications we send are opened, and how you arrived at our marketing pages. See Section 6A (Cookies and Tracking).

Information About Non-Users. If you book a meeting with, or send a calendar invitation to, someone who does not have a Mixies account, we hold that person's name and email address to deliver the booking or invitation. Event organizers may also enter details of speakers, sponsors, or other representatives who do not have accounts. We use this information only to provide the relevant feature and do not use it for marketing.

Derived Data. Inferences, profiles, preferences, and insights that our AI systems generate based on the data you provide and your interactions with the Service.

Other than account credentials, we do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information such as government identification numbers, financial account details, health information, or biometric identifiers, and you should not submit such information through the Service. Profile photos are stored as images only and are not used for facial recognition. If you provide it anyway, you do so at your own risk.

3. How We Collect Information

We collect information in three ways: (a) directly from you, when you register, complete your profile, or communicate with the Mixie Agent; (b) automatically, through your use of the Service, including device and usage data; and (c) from third parties, such as the LinkedIn profile information you choose to import, and information from event organizers or partners associated with events that use Mixies as their event platform technology.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including generating AI-powered networking matches and facilitating introductions.
  • Train, develop, and refine our artificial intelligence and machine learning models, algorithms, and systems, including using registration data, conversation data, and usage data to improve the performance and accuracy of our AI technologies, for the Mixies platform and for other products and services we develop.
  • Conduct internal research and development of new products, services, and features.
  • Generate aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified analytics, reports, benchmarks, and insights for internal business purposes and for sharing with partners, investors, and third parties.
  • Send you networking matches, introductions, event updates, transactional messages, and, where permitted, marketing communications.
  • Personalize your experience with the Service.
  • Enforce our Terms, protect our rights and the safety of our users, prevent fraud, and comply with applicable law.

For information about how long we keep your data, and what happens when you delete your account, see Section 7 (Data Retention).

5. Automated Processing and AI

The Service relies on artificial intelligence to interpret your communications, build profiles, and generate networking matches and recommendations. These outputs are produced automatically and may be incomplete or inaccurate. You can request human review of, or object to, automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects by contacting us at hello@mixies.ai. The Service is not a substitute for professional advice and should not be relied upon for important personal or business decisions.

6. How We Share Your Information

We share information in the following ways:

With Other Members. Your profile information (such as your name, photo, title, company, biography, and the social or web links you add) is visible to members you are matched with and to other participants in events you join, so that they can find and connect with you. Your email address and phone number are not displayed to other members; members communicate through in-app messaging and mutually accepted contact requests. If you choose to share contact details with another member, we cannot control how that person uses them.

With Service Providers. Third-party vendors who help us operate the Service, including cloud hosting and file storage, SMS and email delivery, push notification delivery, product analytics (Mixpanel), and AI model providers (OpenAI). These providers are permitted to use your information only to provide services to us. A current list of our subprocessors is available on request at hello@mixies.ai.

With Event Partners. Event organizers, sponsors, and partners associated with events that use Mixies as their event platform technology. For events you join, we share with that event's organizer your registration information and your event participation data (such as attendance, engagement, and match counts), along with aggregated analytics about the event. We do not share the contents of your conversations with the Mixie Agent with organizers or sponsors, and we share information with sponsors only in aggregated form or with your consent. Organizers use the information they receive for their own purposes and under their own privacy policies, subject to contractual use restrictions in our agreement with them.

Our role when organizers provide data. Some organizers provide Mixies with attendee information (for example, a registration list) so that we can support their event. When we process that information on an organizer's behalf, the organizer is the data controller and Mixies acts as a data processor or service provider under our agreement with the organizer, and requests concerning that information should be directed to the event organizer. Mixies is the data controller for the information you provide directly to Mixies and for data generated by your own use of the Service, and this Privacy Policy governs that information.

With Business Partners. Partners with whom we collaborate to provide or enhance the Service or develop new products.

With Affiliates. Any current or future parent, subsidiary, or affiliate of Unproductive AI Inc.

In Business Transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, in which case your information may transfer to the acquiring or surviving entity.

For Legal and Safety Reasons. When required by law or legal process, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal information for money. To the extent any sharing described above constitutes a "sale" or "sharing" under California law, you may opt out as described in Section 10.

6A. Cookies and Tracking

We use a small number of tracking technologies. In the app and on our websites, we use Mixpanel to record product events (such as sign-ins and feature usage) so that we can understand and improve the Service. On our marketing pages, we use Mixpanel to record page views; where required by law, this tracking is activated only after you consent through the notice shown on the page. Emails we send include an open-tracking pixel, and in-app notifications record whether they were opened; you can prevent email open tracking by disabling image loading in your email client. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

When you delete your account (see Section 11), we delete your identifiable personal data, including your registration data, profile, and conversation content, from our active systems within thirty (30) days, except for data we are legally required to retain, and we confirm to you when deletion is complete. Messages you sent to other members may remain visible in their message histories, attributed to a deleted account, and residual copies may remain in routine backups and security logs for a limited period until they are overwritten. Anonymized and aggregated data, which does not identify you, may be retained indefinitely. Data previously incorporated into trained AI models exists only in non-identifiable form and does not contain your personal information.

8. Data Security and Breach Notification

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable authorities as required by law.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and the Service is not intended for children under 13 as defined by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it promptly and terminate the associated account. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, contact us at hello@mixies.ai.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights regarding your personal information.

Categories of personal information we collect. In the past twelve months we have collected the following statutory categories: identifiers (such as name, email, handle, IP address, device identifiers, and social or web links); customer records information (name, contact details, and account credentials stored as hashes); internet or other network activity (usage and engagement data); approximate geolocation (city-level, derived from IP address); audio, electronic, or visual information (profile photos and files you upload); professional or employment-related information (title, company, biography, and stated networking goals); the contents of messages you send through the Service; and inferences drawn from the above to create profiles reflecting your preferences and characteristics.

Categories disclosed. We have disclosed identifiers, professional information, and inferences to other users (your matches), service providers, event partners, business partners, and affiliates, as described in Section 6.

No sale. We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. To the extent any disclosure constitutes a "sale" or "sharing" under the CCPA/CPRA, you may opt out by contacting us at hello@mixies.ai.

Sensitive personal information. We collect the following sensitive personal information as defined under the CPRA: account log-in credentials (stored as hashes) and the contents of your messages. We use sensitive personal information only to provide the features you request, secure your account, and as otherwise permitted for such information, and we do not use or disclose it for purposes that give rise to a right to limit under the CPRA.

Your rights. Subject to verification, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, the right to access and obtain a copy of it, the right to correct inaccurate information, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing." You also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights; we will not deny you the Service, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised a privacy right.

Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf, subject to our verification of the agent's authority.

How to exercise these rights. Contact us at hello@mixies.ai. We will respond to verified requests within forty-five (45) calendar days and may extend that period by an additional forty-five (45) days where reasonably necessary, with notice to you.

11. How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your account and the personal data associated with it at any time directly within the Mixies app: go to Settings and select Delete Account, then confirm when prompted. You do not need to email us or contact support to do this. Deletion is available to all users regardless of location. See Section 7 for what deletion does and the applicable timing.

12. International Users and Data Transfers

The Service is operated from and hosted in the United States. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or elsewhere outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer and processing.

For users in the EEA and UK, the lawful bases on which we process your personal data are: your consent; performance of our contract with you; and our legitimate interests in operating, improving, and marketing the Service.

You may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@mixies.ai.

13. Your Choices

Text messages. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. Opting out may limit your ability to use certain features, including the Mixie Agent.

Email. You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in any email. You cannot opt out of transactional emails related to your account, your matches, and your use of the Service.

Profile visibility and matches. Making your profile visible to other participants in the events you join, and to members you are matched with, is part of the core functionality of the Service. If you do not want your profile visible to other members, do not join events or use the matching features. Your email address and phone number are not shown to other members unless you choose to share them.

Push notifications. You can turn push notifications off in your device settings.

14. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may contain links to or integrate with third-party sites and services, such as LinkedIn. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their privacy policies before providing them with your information.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
